Battery Disposal Instructions

In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following: As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. You can return used batteries that we offer or have offered as new in our range free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols depicted on the batteries have the following meanings: • The crossed-out trash can symbol indicates that the battery should not be disposed of with household waste.

Pb = The battery contains more than 0.004% by weight of lead.
Cd = The battery contains more than 0.002% by weight of cadmium.
Hg = The battery contains more than 0.0005% by weight of mercury.

Special Conditions for the Sale of Starter Batteries In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries, if you are a consumer, we are obligated under § 10 of the Battery Act (BattG) to charge a deposit of €7.50 (including VAT) for each vehicle battery if you do not return a used vehicle battery when purchasing a new one. This deposit is not included in the purchase price and will be shown separately on the item. If you return a used vehicle battery that we have sold as a new battery according to § 9 BattG, we are required by law to accept it free of charge and refund the deposit amount. If we have issued a deposit label according to § 10 (1) sentence 3 BattG, the refund of the deposit depends on the return of the used vehicle battery along with the deposit label. The return location is the address listed in our legal notice. Returning used batteries by mail is not permitted due to hazardous goods regulations. Alternatively, used vehicle batteries can be returned free of charge at recycling and waste disposal centers. However, the deposit we charge is not refunded by these centers. You may, however, have the return of the used vehicle battery certified on your deposit label. Upon presenting the stamped deposit label, we will refund the battery deposit.
